Fulton, Mo. – The women's golf also traveled to play in the Fall Invitational against the seventh ranked Eagles of William Woods. The course was set up with some difficult par three's for the tournament which caused some higher scores than normal. Two holes in particular forced the ladies to carry the ball over water for 140 yards. The Trojans finished third out of the four teams which participated.
"Extremely happy with how we played. To break 400 both days is showing the consistency we are looking for to compete. Lynzie had another great tournament for her first collegiate season. Juli hung in there well after a rough start on the second day," added Coach Thomas Brennan.
Lynzie Emerson (FR/Williamsville, Ill.) came into the club house as the top Trojan with a 12th place finish scoring a 171 (87/84). She was followed by Julianna Brown (SR/Little Rock, Ark.) (94/94) who finished 19th and Kyla Swanson (JR/Marceline, Mo.) (107/104) who finished 23rd. Andrea Sapaugh (FR/Rolla, Mo.) finished out the scoring with a 111 and 110. Kelcie Orr (SO/Cedar Hill, Mo.) continues to improve and shot her lowest round of the year on the first day.
HLGU will travel to Avila in Kansas City to play at the Swope Memorial Golf Tournament on October 10-11 for their next competition.
