Columbia, Mo. – The women's golf team played in the Cougar Classic hosted by Columbia College. The tournament was played at the Columbia Country Club in Columbia, Missouri. HLGU posted a team score of 835 in two rounds to finish in seventh place.
Lynzie Emerson (FR/Williamsville, Ill.) was the top Trojan finisher with a score of 187 (94/93) which put her in 25th place. Julianna Brown (SR/Little Rock, Ark.) came in as the second scorer on the team with a 208 (110/98). They were followed by Kyla Swanson (JR/Marceline, Mo.) (217) and Andrea Sapaugh (FR/Rolla, Mo.) (223). Coach Thomas Brennan stated, "I was very happy with our performance this week. Everyone continues to improve and become more consistent, which is good to see. We were able to beat CMU on the second day which is something we have not done in a few years. Once again Lynzie lead the team with the best score and had a solid outing."
The ladies will now take a break from competition until March when the second half of the season will begin.
