Hannibal, Mo. - Coming off a huge win on Saturday against Lindenwood University-Belleville, the Trojans  returned to their home court to take on the Spartans of Missouri Baptist.  In the last matchup between the two team, the Spartans won 76-59.  HLGU fell this time by a similar score of 54-78 at home.

The first half fell in favor of the Spartans as they shot a blazing 61% from the field compared to the Trojans 38%.  MBU dominated the glass and had several opportunities in the paint.  It was a fast paced game in which neither team seemed to use much of the shot clock.  At halftime, D'Avonte Garland (SR/Miami, Fla.) led with 10 points.

As the second half started, the Trojans looked to turn the game around.  Greg Nicoll (JR/Kansas City, Mo.) came out and hit the first basket in the second half to close the gap.  However the Spartans continued their run and coasted to a win over the Trojans.

The Trojans were led by Garland with 14 points.  The rebounding battle was spread out as De'Shawn Terrell (SR/Wichita, Kans.), Bruce Ogalat (JR/Port Gentil, Gabon), and Clay Thebeau (SO/Montgomery City, Mo.) each collected four rebounds.  Collectively, the team had eight steals on the night.

The Trojans continue their homestand taking on the Scots from Lyon College on Thursday in part of the Hoops for Hope event. HLGU will conclude their home schedule on Saturday as they face Central Baptist.  They will be honoring six seniors prior to tip off which is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
