Lawrence, Kans. – The Hannibal-LaGrange women's golf team traveled to the Ottawa Spring Invitational hosted at Eagle Bend Golf Course earlier this week. The event was scheduled to be played over two days and two rounds of golf but on the second day there was three inches of snow on the ground, which cancelled the rest of the event. The ladies battled through some tough conditions on day one and finished in last place of the nine teams.
Julianna Brown (SR/Little Rock, Ark.) finished as the top Trojan with a 93 and came in tied for 29th place. The remaining golfers all hit over 100 which is much higher than what they usually shoot. Coach Thomas Brennan added, "The course played extremely tough as the temperature were in the 20's and there were gusts up to 30 mph winds. I am very pleased with how they played and look forward to a full tournament under our belts."
The Trojans have the William Woods Spring Invitational next on their schedule on March 27-28. The tournament will be hosted at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton, Missouri.
