Hannibal, MO. – Emma Anderson has signed to join HLGU Women's Basketball next season. Anderson is the daughter of Sean Clark and Tanya Anderson and resides in Ashland, Missouri. She is coming out of a thriving program at Southern Boone County High School.
Anderson comes in with multiple awards from her high school career. She has received All-Conference Honorable Mention (2013-14), All-Conference 2nd team (2014-2015), and All-District team (2014-2015). She was also named 2017 Southern Boone Lady Eagle MVP. During her senior season, she was the top rebounder and held the top field goal percentage amongst her team. She leaves Southern Boone County making it into the record books as second highest rebounder in program history!
She is coming into HLGU undecided on her major. Anderson attended Westview Missionary Baptist Church.
Anderson's high school coach, Coach Philips shared this about Emma, "When I first took over this program, I challenged this year's senior class to ensure they did not let time slip by them and to make each day special and to have no regrets when it was all over. That was a lofty challenge to issue any student-athlete let alone a group of nine seniors. I don't know for sure but I bet only 1% of high school student-athletes can honestly say that they achieved this goal – to have NO regrets to make sure every day is special. I believe that my group came very close to that, however, I know Emma Anderson in fact did complete that challenge and she is in that 1% category. There is no way in the world that Emma could have any regrets nor did she ever waste a single second of any practice or game. Words cannot describe the career of Emma Anderson at Southern Boone – in fact the closest thing I can say to describe Emma Anderson is that she is a special human being that our world needs more of. I love that kid and always will.
Coach Kelly Quigle shared, "Emma is a great addition to our program. I look forward to coaching her for four years!"
