Jacksonville, Ill. – The Hannibal-LaGrange Men's Golf Team played in a one day event at Jacksonville Country Club on Monday, April 10. Illinois College hosted the event and HLGU finished in fourth place out of 12 teams. The Trojans finished with a team score of 308 and +20 at the McNaughton Invitational.
Juan Hurtado (SO/Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) finished tied for fifth finishing with a score of 74, two over par. Weston Noyes (SR/Lenexa, Kan.) was close behind with a 76 and tied for 10th place. The final two counting scores were from Calvin Anthenat (SR/Rochelle, Ill.) (77) who finished tied for 15th and Hank Stratton (SR/Lee's Summit, Mo.) (81) finished tied for 30th.
Coach Thomas Brennan stated, "I am pleased with how the guys performed with us playing shorthanded. The rest of the year we will have our team at full strength. The guys seem to be improving at the right time and I hope that continues."
The Trojans have one regular season event left on the schedule in Oakbrook, Illinois at the Elmhurst College Invite on April 17. They will then travel on April 24-25 to participate in the AMC Championship in Camdenton, Missouri. The Championship will be played at Old Kinderhook Golf Course.
