Hannibal, Mo. – The Hannibal-LaGrange Baseball team is excited to announce the signing of Mason Jones.  Jones is the son of Laura and Josh Jones of Lenexa, Kansas.  He currently attends Shawnee Mission West High School where he played second base, third base, and centerfield.  He is a multisport athlete who also competed in basketball and soccer.

This past summer Jones traveled with the Complete Game Baseball Club and in the last 18 games of the season hit for a 0.330 batting average with two triples, five doubles, and 28 stolen bases.  Academically, Jones has been part of the honor roll every semester in all four years of high school.  He also works as a high school/youth baseball umpire and spends as a Student Cadet Teacher where he helps mentally handicapped children to pursue an education or career after high school to lead an independent life.

He plans on majoring in Secondary Education with an emphasis in history while attending HLGU.

Coach Ben Strother stated, "Mason will provide us with a good bat and solid defense as a corner infielder as a baseball player. He also is a mature young man who has the right perspective on baseball and life; we know he will be a great contributor to our team as a dependable player the next several years."
