Eugene, Mo. – The Hannibal-LaGrange Women's Golf team completed their schedule earlier this week with two rounds of play at the Redfield Golf and Country Club in Eugene, Missouri. The American Midwest Conference (AMC) hosted the Conference Championship which saw William Woods University claim first place title as HLGU finished in sixth.
Lynzie Emerson (FR/Williamsville, Ill.) finished up the Championship as the top Trojan with a 182 (94/88) improving her score by six strokes on the second day. She ended up tied for 19th place in the event. Senior, Julianna Brown (SR/Little Rock, Ark.) finished her college career tied for 23rd. She score 96 and 91 with a total score of 187. Kyla Swanson (JR/Marceline, Mo.) (210) and Andrea Sapaugh (FR/Rolla, Mo.) (223) were the other two individuals that scored for HLGU.
Coach Thomas Brennan added, "I was very happy with how the girls performed this week. We had an awful day of weather on the first day and the ladies grinded through the round to finish. On day two, it was a better day and Lynzie broke 90 to finish her freshman season. Juli ended her career with a solid round of golf. She has been a big part of our program the last four years and it will be tough to replace her."
