Women's Track & Field - Wed, May 17, 2017

Hannibal, Mo. – The Hannibal-LaGrange Women's Track Team adds a sprinter to the 17-18 recruiting class.  Signing Emma Housewright from Warrenton, Missouri will help fill a need where the coaches are hoping she can make an immediate impact.  Housewright is the daughter of Chrissy and David Housewright who runs for Warrenton High School.  

The following people are in the picture above:  Back Row (L to R) are Maddy Housewright (sister), Kelly Anderson (Coach), Steven Wurtzel (Coach), and Mark Thomas (Coach).  While the front row includes David, Emma, Coach Carissa Eichmeyer, and Chrissy.
WHS Coach Steve Wurtzel shared, "Emma is an athlete with work ethic in and of practice which makes her a teammates around her stronger and faster." Coach Kelly Anderson added, "She has been an outstanding leader by example while being quiet and humble."
Housewright has posted a 12.90 in the 100m and a 26.91 in the 200m as personal records.  Her desire is to major in nursing at HLGU. 
"I am excited to add Emma to the women's team.  She had a great senior season setting PRs in both the 100m and 200m to advance on to sectionals."  Coach Carissa Eichmeyer adds, "she will add a great work ethic and fit in nicely with the women on the team."
