Hannibal, Mo. - The Hannibal-LaGrange Men's Basketball Team signed an offensive-minded guard out of Quincy, Illinois, Chris Hickman. Hickman is the brother of Tim (Coach of Quincy Saints) and Jordan (2017 Alum of HLGU) and the son of Kim Hickman. HLGU is excited to add a well-rounded player that has had success on the court.
Hickman led the Saints in points and three point field goals made this past season. He was selected to the All-Conference and All-Region teams. By the end of the season, he averaged 18 points per game and 9 rebounds per game, all while shooting 37% from behind the arc. He ended his career with over 2000 points and 1000 rebounds.
QHS Coach Tim Hickman stated, "I'm extremely thankful Chris gets the opportunity to attend HLGU and play for Coach Durst. HLGU gives him a great platform to continue his education and Coach Durst gives him a great opportunity to not only continue his development as a player but more importantly, Coach is a great example of what it means to be a Christian husband and father. I'm excited that this opportunity will help Chris develop in all three areas."
Coach Jason Durst added, "We are excited to have Chris join our program after a stellar career with the Quincy Saints. I had the opportunity to watch him develop over the past few years, his maturity and ability to score will make an immediate impact on our team."
