Hannibal, MO. – Colton Gottman signed on with Hannibal-LaGrange University's Shotgun Sports Team this past week.  Gottman, son of Erik and Ashley Gottman, graduated from Hannibal High School and will transfer in from Quincy University.  Coach Hammock was thrilled to sign another local student-athlete to the 2017/18 recruiting class.

Gottman started off his college career receiving a football scholarship from Quincy University.  In high school, Gottman was team captain, all-conference, all-district, and all-area linebacker for the football team.  Unfortunately, his collegiate football career was cut short due to injury this past season.

When attending HLGU in the Fall, Gottman looks to major in Education.  In high school, he was a member of National Honor Society and on the Honor Roll.  During his first year of college at Quincy, he received the Anthony of Padua Academic Scholarship and was a recipient of the Franciscan Service Scholarship.

Coach Nathan Hammock states, "I am very excited to welcome Colton to the HLGU Shotgun Team.  Colton is an avid outdoorsman and has been shooting his entire life.  Through visiting with him and his parents it is evident that Colton desires to do the best that he can in all aspects of his life and I look forward to seeing that drive at practice and during competitions."
