Hannibal, Mo. - The Hannibal-LaGrange University Wrestling program is pleased to have signed Corban Watson from Cordova, Tennessee. Watson is a 2017 graduate of Germantown High School in German Town, Tennessee.

Although Watson does not have a lot of wrestling experience he led his team in most takedowns and was a captain of the Red Devil's wrestling team. Watson was also a 2017 Tennessee state wrestling tournament qualifier. "Watson is eager to learn more about wrestling. I've seen him wrestle and was impressed with his love for wrestling and desire to improve on the mat. One of Germantown's assistant coaches, Kenneth Stanger, was one of my former wrestlers. He speaks very highly of Corban and his college wrestling potential. I agree with Coach Stanger. Corban Watson has a bright future ahead of him", said HLGU Head Wrestling Coach Scott Hawes. Watson plans to wrestle at 165/174 pounds for the Trojans. Watson also played Rugby for the Red Devils. Watson plans on majoring in Nursing at HLGU.

Watson is the son of Leola and Damond Watson.

HLGU is a Division I NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) school and a member of the American Midwest Conference.
