Canton, Mo. – The Hannibal-LaGrange Women's Volleyball Team traveled 40 miles up the road to play against the Culver-Stockton Wildcats.  The Wildcats have had the Trojans number winning every game dating back to August 2012.  HLGU fell in three sets 19-25, 11-25, and 15-25.

The women's team came out in the first set and played right with CSC with the score at 9-12 after a kill from Sarah Greer (FR/Hughesville, Mo.).  The score went back and forth with a couple of runs from each team to get to 19-22.  At that point the Trojans gave up three straight points to end the set.

In the second set, HLGU had the score tied at 8 when the Wildcats took control of the game.  The Trojans hit a rough stretch of mistakes that caused a collapse in communication on the court.  Similar errors plagued the ladies in the third set with them down 14-15 in the third set.  Culver-Stockton went on to score a 10 to 1 run to close out the match.

Coach Kyle Smith stated, "We will look at this film in a month when we play them at our place, otherwise I am excited to get back to work in the gym for two matches Saturday on the road."

On Saturday, September 9 the ladies will travel to play in a tri-match hosted by Lincoln Christion University in Lincoln, Illinois.  The Trojans will face off against Judson University at 2 PM followed by a 4 PM start against the Red Lions.  HLGU will start conference play on September 12 at William Woods at 7 PM.
