Marshall, Mo. – The Hannibal-LaGrange Women's Golf Team participated in the Missouri Valley College Fall Women's Invite. The team finished in sixth place in the two day tournament where the shot a combined 854.
Lynzie Emerson (SO/Williamsville, Ill.) tied for 18th place in the event with a 185 (93/92). She was followed by freshman, Rebecca Sheridan (FR/Mission Hills, Kans.) with a 106/102 and placed 28th. Kyla Swanson (SR/Marceline, Mo.) was right behind Sheridan placing 29th with a 104/105. Jessica Tarter (SO/Cedar Hill, Mo.) closed out the scoring with a 252. The ladies improved their scores from day one by six strokes.
Coach Thomas Brennan said, "It was good to get the first tournament of the year under our belts. The scores were not as good as we hoped, however each player was able to see what they needed to work on moving forward. I was very pleased with the improvement we made from day one to day two."
The Trojans will be on the course again on October 2-3 at the Columbia College Invitational hosted at the Columbia Country Club in Columbia, Missouri. The two day event will feature several American Midwest Conference schools so the ladies will be able to see how they stack up.
