Parkville, Mo. - The Hannibal-LaGrange University Men's Soccer Team played in a much anticipated match up with the Park University (5-3-1) this weekend. The Trojans were looking to get a victory under their belt after losing three straight close games. The team is currently one game under .500 for the season with a (4-5) record and (2-2) in conference play.

The first half started off slow for the men's team as they fell behind by a goal in the 26th minute of the game. However, HLGU responded and come back to tie it at 1-1 just four minutes later. Fernan Centeno (SR/Porlamar, Venezuela) was able to capitalize off a rebound from the Pirate goalie which was his second of the season. From that point forward both teams would battle it out to the end and played lock down defense.

The game would extend to two overtime periods of 10 minutes each but neither team was able to take advantage of their opportunities. The final result of the contest ends in a draw. This would be the Trojans first tie of the season. With this draw their record is now (4-5-1) heading into Homecoming Week. Joaquin, Hansen anchored the defense with 9 saves for the game. HLGU was out shot 20-11by Park.

The Trojans have another opportunity to capture a victory during their homecoming week with a conference match up with Freed-Hardeman. The game will be on October 7 with live coverage beginning at 3:30 PM.
