HANNIBAL, Mo. – Hannibal-LaGrange University is happy to announce the upcoming unveiling of the Trojan mascot during homecoming festivities on Oct. 5.

The mascot, nicknamed Theologian the Trojan, is based off of Ephesians 6:14-17 as it will yield the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit.

Senior Tyler Folster will represent HLGU as the Trojan mascot, making appearances at athletic events as well as other on and off campus activities.

"Tyler was chosen by the committee as the first Mascot as a result of the character he has shown while as a student at HLGU, because of the manner in which he has represented Hannibal-LaGrange in the past, and to allow a senior to serve as the mascot for this the first year," stated Ray Carty, Vice President of Enrollment Management.

Folster, a native of Jacksonville, Ill., has been a member of the HLGU Dean's List in both 2012 and 2013 while majoring in secondary education with an emphasis in social studies.  He is the son of Paul and Kay Folster Jr. and a graduate of Westfair Christian Academy.
